Elman is an agentic AI system I co-designed at Deep Science Ventures to accelerate early applied R&D. It helps venture scientists break down complex problem spaces, generate and evaluate high-utility hypotheses, and converge on strong venture concepts. Built around structured decomposition, domain heuristics, and multi-step reasoning workflows, Elman has supported the creation of more than a dozen deep-tech ventures across agriculture, climate, computing, and therapeutics.
Unlike single-shot ideation tools, Elman uses agentic scaffolding to turn broad problem areas into well-formed hypotheses, generate hundreds of candidate solution families, experimental plans, and validated translational pathways. It uses multi-step workflows that embed scientific logic, necessity/sufficiency tests, neglected-pathway scoring, and design-by-constraint.
I oversaw product management, user research, UI design, roadmap development and evaluation, and secured external funding to support its growth.
